Hiya: Squatch here. I’m usually a faultfinder when sleeping away from my luscious lair — my fiddlefern fourposter tucked under a swath of Mount Hood fir trees. But if you want an uncommon slumber spot of your own in the Columbia Gorge, consider a room at (or renting the whole place) Lodge 902 in Hood River. You won’t regret it. Here’s why:
Reason #6 The Guest Book is a Wall: It was built in 1911, so there’s a mini-room in the foyer that was likely once a telephone room. Now, it hosts the guest book wall(paper). Pick a pair of eyes, open up a Sharpie and add to it! Come back again and find your character.

Their system is self check-in and check-out, so once you are given the latest smart lock code to enter, you can make yourself at home no matter what time you arrive and depart. The kitchen is yours for light snacks and has a guest refrigerator to chill leftovers and beverages. Wine glasses and table settings are at the ready for you. Lodge team members are in and out all day, but simply a message away if you need anything at all.
Reason #3 Gorge-ous River Views All Year Long:
Whether you’re snuggling up to a mug of hot coffee or flirting with a bottle of wine at sunset, the rocking chairs are there for you to relax and absorb the panoramic veranda vistas.

It's eclectic, quirky, campy, adventurous, kitchy, clever, distinctive, enchanting, woodsy and entertaining. (The guests' words.) Lodge 902 has several cozy Sunset Magazine-photo-worthy spots to be — in the upstairs den, the sunroom with a complimentary espresso bar, living room with impressive fireplace, front porch, front yard fire pit, dining room and of course veranda. So many spots to soak in your time away.

It's stocked with a bevy of props to solidify your getaway in a photo. From mustaches to fur coats, they’ve got you SO covered, you might not be recognizable in the shot.
Being Sasquatch, I’m not so comfortable in the world, but Lodge 902 is the exception for me. I think you’ll find it exceptional, too, in more ways than these 6.
